The first part of a larger investigation of US Route 66, the Mother Road, one of the most Iconic roads in the world. Eventually, I plan to document the route in its entirety, from Chicago to San Diego in one trip.

Pontiac is the first place I spent working on this project. Over 5 trips and 1000's of images, this specific project was centered around the City of Pontiac in Central Illinois. This project worked to investigate the slow demise many small towns along the historic route face with the realignment to the interstate highway system, with a special emphasis on exploring architectural styles of the era such as Googie and Mid-Century Modern.
